Although we all can’t dress like Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada to go to the office, that doesn’t mean we have to be stuck in the same old, standard pantsuits and boring sweater sets. It is definitely possible for you to look stylish at the office while staying completely appropriate and professional. It really is all about mixing a couple of strong statement pieces. Here are a few outfit ideas:

Feminine Chic:

This outfit is ideal for looking super classy and feminine at the office. A sleeveless blouse is cute and still appropriate because it has a high neckline. This is also a great staple piece for the office because you can wear it under a blazer or cardigan or with a pair of trousers. Try a cute one from Miss Selfridge and pair it with a bright skirt, like this yellow accordion pleated one from Monsoon. A structured handbag is also great for the office if you need to fit your laptop or tablet in it, and can be matched with every outfit. Also, a great pair of black pumps, like these from Valentino, are great investment pieces.

The Pencil Skirt:

Why not break free from the traditional black pencil skirt and try one in a different color? This hot pink skirt from H&M is very versatile and can be worn with a blouse like this flowy one, also from H&M, for an updated look. Instead of pairing pencil skirts with fitted tops, it’s best to wear something with more volume on top. Try a statement necklace like this one from Juicy Couture to stand out and pair it with nude heels, like this peep-toe pair from Aldo, for a sophisticated look.

Classic Pantsuit:

Just because a pantsuit is usually boring and understated doesn’t mean you can’t make it look modern and sexy with just a little pop of color. This navy blazer from Miu Miu is perfect for the office and can be worn with any office outfit. The pants, from Topshop, are also great to pair with a colorful blouse like this one from Chloe for the fall. A matching bangle from Hermes packs some punch and classic patent nude pumps from Giuseppe Zanotti also add to the classic look. All of these garments are great investment pieces and can be worn with or without each other to create a multitude of stylish office looks.

Classy Casual:

A belted dress like this orange chiffon one from Dorothy Perkins is perfect for breaking out of the stiff and overly business-like look. To keep it conservative, try a mini cardigan like one from Topshop. This look can be worn with cute, feminine flats like these quilted ones from Mulberry, which are also a plus for staying comfy in the office. Or in fall, you can opt to wear a pair of boots. A delicate necklace is also a great piece to have everyday to keep yourself feeling pretty and stylish.

Make sure to invest in staple pieces for the office, and with those, you will be able to create endless possibilities to stay the best-dressed in the office without breaking the rules. Don’t be afraid of color, or even prints- if you have a bunch of neutral pieces, invest in a bright handbag.
